I bought this in blue for my son. I had become fed up with falling over his freestanding play castle. Its a great den and makes the bottom bunk more interesting than the top. The cost and finish are about right considering the amount of work in it. I bought it for a set of solid beech bunk beds we already had and it would have been have useful to know that in order to attach it you do have to screw into the wood. This obviously leaves permanent marks if your planning on selling the furniture on.
